Abstract	STRATIGRAPHY AND Y BIOSTRATIGRAPHY FROM THE MIDDLE ORDOVICIAN OF LAS CHACRITAS RIVER, SAN JUAN CENTRAL PRECORDILLERA.-Two Ordovician carbonate formations are recognized in the Las Chacritas Creek (Sierra de La Trampa, Central Precordillera ). The lithostratigraphic nomenclature is analyzed and revised, the Las Aguaditas Formation is proposed for the carbonate succession that is overlying the San Juan Formation. The middle Darriwilian conodont faunas recovered from the studied stratigraphic interval allowed the usage of the Baltic biostratigraphic chart: the Eoplacognathus pseudoplanus and the Eoplacognathus suecicus zones. The contact between the San Juan and Las Aguaditas formations is analyzed and correlation is possible with several localities of the Central Precordillera. Resumen: ESTRATIGRAFIA Y BIOESTRATIGRAFIA DEL ORDOVICICO MEDIO DEL RIO LAS CHACRITAS, PRECORDILLERA CENTRAL DE SAN JUAN.Se reconocen dos unidades carbonaticas ordovicicas en la Quebrada del rio Las Chacritas (Sierra de La Trampa, Precordillera Central). Se analiza y revisa la nomenclatura litoestratigrafica proponiendose Formacion Las Aguaditas para la sucesion carbonatica que sobreyace a la Formacion San Juan. Se da a conocer la bioestratigrafia de conodontes de la sucesion carbonatica darriwiliana media, especialmente la del tope de la Formacion San Juan y de la parte inferior de la Formacion Las Aguaditas. Se analiza el pase entre la Formacion San Juan y la transicion calcareo-pelitica (Formacion Las Aguaditas), y se lo correlaciona con otras localidades de la Precordillera Central.
