Abstract	This article focuses on using environmental tracers methods to estimate natural groundwater recharge based on chloride mass balance in unsaturated zone (chloride profile technique) refers to detrictic aquifers in semiarid conditions (precipitation d 700 mm/year). Field and laboratory methodologies are described along with an advantages and uncertainties approach in using the method. A bibliographic revision has been carried out of the practical methodology application in estimating groundwater recharge as sustanaible groundwater resource management aspects and as specific aspects related to phenomenon and processes afecting the natural recharge.
