| Abstract | Cesar Bauer Gomes1 Beatriz Marti Emygdio1 Cristiane Mariliz Stöcker2 Lúcia Somavilla3 The reaction of two corn inbred lines (L08 and L19), one commercial hybrid (BRS 1002), two corn experimental hybrids (HPS 3919 and HPS 3516) and one sweet sorghum cultivar (BR506) from the Embrapa breeding program to M. incognita (Est. I2) was evaluated at green house conditions. Seedlings of the different genetic materials gorwn in pots with sterilized soil, were inoculated with 5.000 eggs + J2 of M. incognita/ plant. Seedlings of ‘Rutgers’ tomato plants were used as controls. The experiment was carried out under a randomized design with six replications. Fifty-five days after the inoculation, the plant resistance was evaluated by counting the gall number and nematode reproduction factor (RF= final population / initial population) determination. The ‘BR506’ sweet sorghum and the L08 (PFMO3) corn inbred line were resistant and moderately resistant to M. incognita, respectively, while the other corn genotypes behaved as susceptible to the nematode. |
