| Abstract | This research aims to identify the linguistic-discursive aspects embedded in the educator’s rewriting commands and pre-service teacher’s response in the rewriting process of the Supervised Pre-Service Teaching Report genre in a Language and Literature Teaching School. It is a case study developed from a qualitative documentary research. In a longitudinal research, we created analytical categories characterizing the interaction by writing in activities of report rewriting: the deletion of information presented; not getting to the requested point; ignoring indications and reflexive expansion of information presented. The last one reflects what is expected in the written genre in question: the reflection on pedagogical practices experienced during pre-service training period. As the main theoretical and methodological approach to the linguistic analysis of data, we used the systemic functional linguistics. The process of rewriting in teacher training is a sustainable practice because it is not finished at the end of mandatory internship. On the contrary, it should be transformed according to the necessities of pre- service teachers in the exercise of their profession. In addition, rewriting mediated by supervisors contributes to the development of reflexive practices that must be a part of the identity of the future mother tongue teacher. The results show, therefore, that rewriting should be a constitutive practice of academic writing, collaborating to strengthen both the academic literacy and the literacy for the workplace. |
