| Abstract | espanolEste trabajo propone una metodologia para realizar una lectura en clave de diferenciacion social de la cultura material de la nobleza. Fundamentalmente, se basa en inventarios post-mortem, y tambien en diversos tratados sobre el tema de lujo y en otras fuentes literarias. Como primer paso, intentamos evaluar la transformacion del concepto de lujo entre finales del siglo XVII y finales del XVIII, a partir de la multiplicacion de las piezas tasadas y la proliferacion de pequenos objetos muy costosos. La pompa fue eclipsada en favor de un lujo que, a partir de la Corte, se difundiria entre todos los sectores de las elites de la sociedad. El estudio de este desarrollo de los consumos en provincias' ofrece tambien otras lecturas, como el analisis del malestar social nobiliario y una mejor comprension de sus intereses contrapuestos, claramente discernibles en el tiempo de las Asambleas de la Nobleza durante la primavera de 1789. EnglishThis paper proposes a methodology for a reading of social differences of the material culture of the nobility. It relies on the inventories post-mortem, as well as on treaties on the subject of luxury and literary sources. As a first step, we attempt to assess the transformation of the concept of luxury between the end of the 17th Century and 18th Century when there was an increase of pieces and the proliferation of small and very expensive objects. The pomp was overshadowed in favour of a luxury, which, from the Court, was broadcast on all the social elites. The study of these upheavals in provincial consumer habits offers a reading grid to analyze the noble social unrest and allow better understand the conflicting interests, detect at the time of the 'Asambleas de la Nobleza' in the spring of 1789. |
