| Abstract | Introduction : the training of appropriate skills consists of reaching the structure of the object to turn it into a way of acting, as for the study of the object and the clinical method, which constitutes an essential approach for its achievement. Objective: to support the clinical method and its utility in the training of research abilities in medical students. Method: descriptive and cross-sectional study in which theoretical and empirical methods were used. Results: 15% of professors have notions concerning the utility of the clinical method to train research skills, 98% expressed not to know how the clinical method can be used as a teaching method for this process. 100% of professors confirmed the non-use of this method for the development of oriented tasks. 96% of students said that their professors have not explained the importance of the clinical method in the training of research skills and confirmed the non-use of the same during this process (97%); 100% of them recognized the contribution that the clinical method would have on the process of training research skills. Conclusions: the significance of the clinical method into the process of training research skills in medical students is corroborated. |
