| Abstract | Desde el punto de vista de la historia linguistica, 1282 representa un cambio significativo en la vida siciliana. Ademas de una direccion politica diferente, y por lo tanto linguistica (hacia la Peninsula Iberica mas que hacia Francia), que la isla empezo a experimentar y que probablemente permaneceria durante algunos siglos, la consecuencia mas significativa de las Visperas, por lo que nos interesa, fue la ruptura de relaciones con la parte meridional de la peninsula. From the point of view of linguistic history, 1282 represents a significant change in Sicilian life. Apart form a different political direction, and therefore linguistic (towards the Iberian Peninsula more than towards Franco), that the island started to experiment and that would probably remain for a few centuries, the most significant consequence of the Vespers, as far as we are concerned, was the break-up of relations with the southern part of the peninsula. |
