| Abstract | Trees regeneration dynamic during the cropping period under semi-permanent cropping system of the southern Senegal. Trees regeneration dynamic is studied in a semi-permanent cropping system in the southern zone of Senegal. New cleared fields of 1 to 14 years old are studied in synchronous mode. Results show that stumps are the principal regeneration potential during the cropping period. Six years cultivation lead to 50% density lost and up to 80% nine years later. In the same period, stumps species richness fall down up to 50%. Fourteen years cultivation cause nearly twice more rapid loss of germination and only about three to four species are concerned with seed sprouting. Floristic diversity is an important factor on vegetation dynamic during cultivation. |
