| Abstract | This work describes a software tool to publish courses through the Internet. The software generates an interface that facilitates the production of didactic material through a browser, based on WWW platform and scripts for CGI. This work shows too, the tool application inside a discipline of the formal Electric Engineering course, with discussion of reached results and the methodology advantages and disadvantages. The application for distance learning course is suggested, where the University is the source of the knowledge, updating disciplines to professionals, in the most several areas. The software tool is in development and being tested with students of the course. They supply their difficulties and their learning, helping the whole development process. The advantage of using the Internet and its hypermedia resources comes from the possibility of solving several constraint situations in formal education. These constraints can be enumerated as: subject updating, sharing of didactic resources among several teachers of the same discipline and the quality degradation of the didactic materials with the time. With the proposal methodology, the subject belonging to a discipline can be updated every day and for any teacher, allowing a better performance in the didactic activities. Furthermore, self-tests allow students to check their learning and to move forward independently of the teacher more or less in the available theory. The proposed methodology alters the traditional education paradigm placing online the whole course sequence, from theory, self-tests and exercises, to laboratory practical and projects. It establishes a minimum for the knowledge of each student. The incursions in larger knowledge will depend on the student and of the teacher's possibility to update the discipline subject. |
