| Abstract | Objective: To determine the effectiveness of the roll-over test as a predictor of preeclampsia in the gynecology and obstetrics service of Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen National Hospital during the period of January to September 2017, calculating its sensitivity and specificity. Methodology: The research design of this study is cohort-type, analytical, prospective and quasi-experimental. A total of 272 pregnant women between 28 and 32 weeks of gestational age, who were attended in Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen National Hospital, were studied, the roll-over test was applied on two occasions, and then was divided in two groups, one group with positive test and the other with negative test, the pregnant women were followed until the end of the pregnancy and immediate puerperium to see if they developed preeclampsia. The obtained data was processed through the statistical package SPSS version 24. We calculated the relative risk (RR), the COR curve, the sensitivity and specificity of the roll-over test to predict preeclampsia, for which it was considered a 95% confidence interval (95% CI). Results: The sensitivity of the roll-over test for a cutoff point of 20 mmHg was 60% and the specificity of 93,1% also had a PPV of 25% and a NPV of 5,7%, the RR was 15, 5 with a 95% confidence interval (4,698-51,142). Conclusions: The roll-over test is effective in predicting preeclampsia in pregnant women with a history of preeclampsia. |
