| Abstract | El objetivo de la presente comunicacion es el analisis de la publicacion y la circulacion de textos relativos al derecho de gentes en la ciudad de Caracas de la primera mitad del siglo XIX. Durante esas decadas tuvo lugar en esta urbe la edicion de algunas importantes obras de juristas y politicos, que tenian precisamente la finalidad de impulsar las teorias del derecho de gentes y del derecho constitucional. El Manual del venezolano de Francisco Javier Yanes (1824), el Manual del colombiano o explicacion de la ley natural de Tomas Lander (1825) y el Derecho de gentes de Andres Bello (1832) recibieron, sobre todo el ultimo, gran atencion por parte del publico. El proposito de los autores es la produccion de publicaciones academicas destinadas a la divulgacion de una ciencia extremadamente importante para el destino de las patrias, como era el derecho de gentes. The purpose of this paper is the analysis of the publication and the broadcasting of the books in regard to the Law of nations in Caracas, in the first half of the XIXth century. In that city, the edition of some important works by jurists and politicians took place during these years. Their aim was the promotion of the theories concerning to the Law of nations and the Constitutional Law. The Manual del venezolano by Francisco Javier Janes (1824), the Manual del colombiano o explicacion de la ley natural by Tomas Lander (1825) and the Derecho de gentes by Andres Bello (1832) had a notorious success -principally Bello’s work-. The intention of these authors was the production of academic publications linked to the divulgation of the Law of nations -a science that was really important for the fate of the new Latin American nations. |
