| Abstract | Petros Charalambides is a senior in mechanical engineering at Purdue University. A native of Cyprus, he is studying in the United States with a scholarship granted from the Cyprus Fulbright Commission. He also has been awarded the Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Company Scholarship and John M. Bruce Memorial Scholarship while at Purdue. In the summer of 2011, Charalambides joined a multidisciplinary project on designing advanced micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) devices.
