| Abstract | The main purpose of this study was to identify aspects of municipal risk and vulnerability analyses that are of importance to the perceived usability at a regional level. The first part of the study aimed to encode the content of municipal risk and vulnerability analyses from the counties of Scania and Stockholm. The results were then correlated against rankings of the analyses established by the county administrative boards of each county. The variables that were found to have an impact on perceived usability in municipal risk and vulnerability analyses are; limitations of the analysis, descriptions of the scenarios, scales used to describe probability and consequence, background description regarding probability and consequence and measures of risk reduction. The study concludes a need for improvement regarding all the abovementioned variables. A comparative study including students from the masters program in risk management and safety engineering, LTH displayed good agreement with the results that were obtained from Scania. An observed difference was that students seem to value transparency to a greater extent. To be able to draw conclusions on the general view on usability for the county administrative boards of Sweden more studies need to be conducted. |
