| Abstract | This investigation is aimed at the study of the merger occurred between two of the main television chains that make up the current Spanish mediatic situation, Antena 3 and La Sexta, through the analysis of the consequences it gives rise to within a legal framework. The characteristics of this operation are analysed from a societary perspective, following with an evaluation of the operation in terms of European Law. Furthermore, special attention is paid to the matter that has originated more controversy within the field: the Government‟s intervention in the concentration control process initiated by the CNMC (before, CNC). This intervention is studied with the aim of judging its appropriateness, reaching after a detailed study, both at a theoretical level as well as at a practical one, the conclusion that such Government act lacks the sufficient justification, revealing thus to be inadequate. |
