| Abstract | Vindarini Novianti (107017000771). “The Effect of Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving Method in Student's Mathematical Critical Thinking Skills”. Skripsi for Department of Mathematics Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teachers Training, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University, Jakarta, July 2014. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving method on student's mathematical critical thinking skills. The research was conducted at SMP Paramarta Ciputat, 2013/2014 academic year. The method of the research used experimental method with factorial design. Subject for this research are 68 students consist of 33 students of experimental group and 35 students of control group which selected in cluster random sampling technique. The collecting data instrument used with test of mathematical critical thinking. The results of research reveal that the student's mathematical critical thinking skills who are taught by Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) method is higher than students taught by group discustion method (Fcount = 14,778 Ftable = 3,99). Mathematical critical thinking skills of students who are taught by the Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) had ability of Focus amounting to 72,42%, Reason amounting to 60,3%, Inference amounting to 66,06%, Situation amounting to 39,71%, Clarity amounting to 72,12%, and Overview amounting to 64,24%. As for the grade control who are taught by group discustion had ability of Focus amounting to 68,86%, Reason amounting to 40,57%, Inference amounting to 38,28%, Situation amounting to 39,71%, Clarity amounting to 53,71%, and Overview amounting to 44,57%. While, male student's mathematical critical thinking skills had ability of Focus amounting to 63,63%, Reason amounting to 44,54%, Inference amounting to 50,9%, Situation amounting to 43,03%, Clarity amounting to 54,54%, dan Overview amounting to 50,9%. And female student's mathematical critical thinking skills had ability of Focus amounting to 77,14%, Reason amounting to 55,43%, Inference amounting to 52,57%, Situation amounting to 51,14%, Clarity amounting to 70,28%, dan Overview amounting to 57,14%. Conclusions of this research is mathematical critical thinking skills of the student who taught with Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) method is higher than the student who taught by group discustion method. While, mathematical critical thinking skills of female student's is higher than male student's. |
