| Abstract | This paper presents experimental and numerical results to examine deformed shapes and damage initiation areas in repaired glass/epoxy composite laminates by patches. The experimental part consists of low-speed impact tests on three repairs. The behavior of these repaired laminates was monitored using the Image Correlation Technique (DIC) to quantitatively view the strain distribution and the damage initiation areas. A 3D finite elements analysis was performed to determine the distribution of stresses in critical areas.
