| Abstract | The importance of water to the dimensions of sustainable development gains strategic contours when the concept is spatialized . Thinking about sustainable development for areas such as the Brazilian semiarid permeates a more comprehensive and complex discussion , such as building specific to assist in the planning and management of local water resources systems process indicators . Thus, the objective of this paper is the analysis of hydroenvironmental sustainability of municipalities belonging to sub - basin of Rio do Peixe -PB by calculating the Hydroenvironmental Participatory Sustainability Index ( ISHAP ). Therefore, it was necessary to adopt some procedures and research techniques, which are: 1 ) construction of ISHAP system; 2) weighting and validation by the social actors involved directly eat themed hidroambiental sustainability and water management of the variables belonging to the ISHAP through content analysis of the recordings and events that dealt with the topic in question, and; 3) application of the system proposed in all municipalities belonging to sub -basin Rio do Peixe, thereby subsidizing the analysis. The results obtained with the application of ISHAP System for the reality of each municipality belonging to the sub - basin of Rio do Peixe proved an important tool to aid in discussions , planning and management of local realities hydroenvironmental instrument. |
