Abstract	Objective: to analyze the surveys conducted with caregivers of elderly people suffering from Alzheimer's (of). Method: the search was performed on the electronic portal of the Virtual Health Library (VHL) where we used the database Lilacs. Seventeen (17) articles attended the criteria for inclusion of this systematic review. After reading, built the following categories for analysis: sample; instruments; ethical aspects; periodical in which the article was published; year of publication of the article. Results: of 17 studies, 15 were published in the period 2005 to 2010. Samples, 15 were composed by elderly attacked by Alzheimer's disease and their caregivers; the other two, by caregivers and noncaregivers. As for the instruments used for evaluation, 10 articles have made use of questionnaire, 6 collected data through interviews and semiestruturadas 1 through structured interview. There was little standardization in data collection by preventing a more detailed comparison to be performed. Conclusion: taking care of the elderly with of is a major challenge, requiring people who care, in addition to the adjustments, dedication and understanding, carries a wear in the life of the caregiver, making it more vulnerable to problems of physical, mental and social health. It is concluded that, with the care of the elderly requires knowledge and skill enhancement and emotional strategies by immersion into individual field that cares for and in own subjectivity of caring.
