| Abstract | The study about reverse logistics has contributed significantly in the search for the implementation of sustainable supply chains and, consequently, helped organizations become increasingly competitive, as they need to meet the increasingly rigid regulations, increasing environmental awareness and diminishing natural resources. In this perspective, efficient reverse logistics management can be an important component for sustainable supply chain. The aim of this study is to present a brief vision of the state of the art on reverse logistics and visualize it as an essential tool for the functioning of sustainable supply chains. It is an exploratory research, by means of bibliographical research of the main authors on the topic in question. The results show that there are still conflicts in relation to the management of supply chains, the management of reverse logistics and environmental management, which reinforces the need for research on these topics addressed, both to the academics and for the managers of these areas in the companies as well. |
