| Abstract | Constant globalization as well as intensifying competition cause that innovations become the most important source of not only competition advance, but they also help in efficiency of various organizations. The low level of innovations in Poland creates a barrier to its development. That is why the searching and using of efficient ways of improving innovations become the strategical priority. The implementation of RIS provides a perfect example of such instruments. The RIS model for Silesian province on years 2013-2020 is based on the progress of smart regional specializations among which are energy production, broadly understood medicine and ICT. In this context smart specialization stands for identifying unique features and assets of every region as well as emphasizing their competition advance and concentrating regional partners and their resources on the future vision of economic and social achievements. |
