| Abstract | In this paper, semi analytical method is proposed to model shock pressure on an elastic half-space. Analytical formulations have been developed to account for inertial effects. An application to laser shock peening is presented. In a second part, we will lock at the expansion of an inclusion in a semiinfinite body in order to predict the plastic strain and residual stress induced by a laser shock process.
