| Abstract | Space images of ultra-high spatial resolution have been used in various geographical studies for a long time. However, due to the limited archives of space images with ultra-high spatial resolution and due to the demand to cover large areas images of lower spatial resolution are mainly used in studies of coastline changes. In the paper authors carry out interpretation of the multitemporal images of the changes of the coastline position taking into account the influence of tidal fluctuations. Images from KeyHole satellites and satellite WorldView-2, as well as the aerial photography have been used. The impact of tides on the displaying position of the coastline on the satellite images has been eliminated by introducing a correction for the deviation of water level from longstanding average one. A map that represents areas of the coast that are actively changing is a result of project described. It has been revealed that emergence of study area is about 5 meters per year. |
