| Abstract | The overall objective of the project was to develop a structure based entirely on polymer matrix composite materials intended for use as a sea lighthouse. This project was developed as part of the works corresponding to the North expansion of the Port of Valencia promoted by the Port Authority of Valencia. The work carried out covered both the definition and execution of the structural design and calculation strategy as well as the development and characterization of the materials and the different manufacturing processes employed, as well as the strategy of assembly and installation of the structure in its final location. Throughout the project an optimum cost / performance ratio was maintained, fulfilling the specific requirements of the structure and the pertinent regulations. |
