| Abstract | RESUMO: O presente artigo busca problematizar a separacao entre esfera publica e esfera privada, existente no modelo liberal burgues, como um substrato legitimador da imposicao de papeis sociais e sexuais diferenciados para homens e mulheres. Para tanto, o trabalho confronta as ideias fundamentais do pensamento de John Locke e de Jean-Jacques Rousseau, teoricos liberais contratualistas do sec. XVII-XVIII, diante da teoria do contrato sexual da teorica feminista Carole Pateman. Palavras-chaves: Publico. Privado. Liberalismo. Feminismo. ABSTRACT: This article seeks to problematize the separation between the public and the private spheres, existent in the bourgeois liberal model, as a legitimizing substrate for the imposition of differentiated social and sexual roles for men and women. Therefore, the work confronts the fundamental ideas of John Locke’s and Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s thinking, liberal contractualists theorists from the XVII-XVIII centuries, in face of the sexual contract theory from feminist theorist Carole Pateman.
