Abstract	espanolLos Centros Tecnologicos (CTS) se han convertido en proveedores tecnologicos muy relevantes para las empresas espanolas. Presentan una gran heterogeneidad en cuanto a capacidades y estan experimentando un importante crecimiento real y potencial de su facturacion. Este estudio trata de mejorar el conocimiento de este tipo de organizacion. Se presenta un analisis cluster utilizando dos atributos basicos de los CTS: la atencion a empresas y la fortaleza tecnologica. Posteriormente, se analiza el encaje de los CTS en los Sistemas de Innovacion y la evolucion previsible de su papel como agentes basicos en este sistema. Para finalizar, se resumen los programas especificos de respaldo publico a los CTS puestos en marcha por el Ministerio de Industria, Turismo y Comercio. EnglishThe Technology Centres (TCS) are important suppliers of technology for Spanish firms. The objective of this paper is to improve the knowledge about Spanish TCS. Firstly, we present the main characteristics and the evolution of the Spanish TCS. The second question examined refers to the great heterogeneity of this kind of agents. In this sense, we present a cluster analysis using two basic characteristics of the TCS: services to firms and technological strength. Thirdly, we analyze the adjustment of the TCS to the National Innovation System and their foreseeable evolution as basic agents of this system. Finally, we summarize the programs of public support for TCS started up by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade.
