| Abstract | Planococcus sp.VITP21 was grown in LB agar plates (4 % NaCl) amended with 100 mg/l of sodium selenite and potassium tellurite were incubated at 35oC for 24 h and 48 h respectively and compared with strain VITP21 grown in the absence of metalloid. Appearance of dark-red and black colonies in agar plates (Figure 9.1) confirmed the reduction and intracellular accumulation of elemental selenium and tellurium respectively (Amoozegar et al., 2007). In the absence of metalloid (selenite and tellurite) strain VITP21 appeared as orange colonies. 1a1 1a2 |
