| Abstract | Guided-waves propagation in pipes allows the rapid inspection and defects identification (cracks, corrosion...). Among the propagation modes, torsional waves have many proven benefits for the inspection of pipelines. In this context, an inspection tool based on the generation of torsional mode by piezoelectric transducers has been developed. The guided-waves generator allows the emission of torsional waves and receiving of reflected echoes. Subsequently, some signal processing tools for filtering and analyzing the recorded signals are used to eliminate background noise and parasites and extract the most relevant information. Several experimental tests were conducted on real installations. The T mode is well excited and its speed verified. According to the responses recorded, the identification of echoes allows the recognition of defects and singularities in the pipeline.
