Abstract	In the research paper the calorific value and chemical composition of hemp will be analysed, also the melting temperature of ashes. The aim of the study was to evaluate hemp ( Cannabis sativa L.) as a bioenergy resource. The hemp variety 'Bialobrzeskie' was sown in humi-podzolic gley soil in 2009 and 2010.
