Abstract	In the département of Hauts-de-Seine, the urbain drainage scheme, and more specifically the stormwater drainage plan, involves a multi-disciplinary and multi-agent approach. In order to guarantee the coordinated management of drainage systems, between october 2004 and december 2005, the local authorities launched a wideranging consultation project about local urban drainage schemes with the aim of improving the quality of the river Seine water and reducing the impact of floods due to storms. This pedagogical project supported by the civic leaders forstered a fruiteful debate and gave the authorities the opportunity to create strong partnerships with both individual communes and groups of communes. This culminated with the signing of agreements aimed at ensuring consistant and sustainable water drainage management practises.
