| Abstract | Metacogniton refers to the ability of learners to be aware of and monitor their learning process. is study was designed to investigate the metacognitive awareness of reading strategies that college students used in reading English as a foreign language (EFL) in their academic reading. Data discussed in this paper were collected from a questionnaire, classroom observation and interviews. e findings provided evidence that the participants had awareness and a reasonable control of metacognitive strategies while reading academic texts. |
