| Abstract | The political talk show on the Spanish television has become, in recent years, the formula of reference for the creation of different points of view and also the hierarchy of the content agenda. This enables some systems of projecting selected frames to go from the issues to the public. The format and the dynamics of the talk show as an audio-visual journalistic genre, has permeated most Spanish mass media, with the homogeneity characteristic of the Spanish audio-visual system. The rise and consolidation of the talk shows, has been accompanied by what might be called the omnipresence preferentiality of the actors giving their opinion as pundits in the field of the mass media. Meanwhile, industry experts fulfil these spaces of opinion makers. They will remotely authorize the format a more "specific" and "supported" one. An extremely competitive market in the media, which has deregulated public controls for the benefit of the emergence of financial sector investors, seems to be looking for covering a unifying common minimum for large public opinions. This research develops in this critical concept of the television talk show space without the purpose of leaking as a simple detraction of the genre. It aims to contribute methodologically to further deepen into the rigorous study of it, as well as to register some keys to the dissertation format. The set of conclusions derived from the research feed the main objective that the paper proposes: "to analyse the policy of the talk shows in the public and private Catalan television programs –8 al dia and Els Matins– from a communicative perspective, based on the academic framework of journalistic genres of opinion. In response to this objective, it should be noted that the research suggests the need to check some of the concepts previously presented by the academy in relation to this subject. The purpose is to substantiate them in a civil society that faces changing scenarios in both journalism and communication key, as in reception platforms and content consumption. |
