| Abstract | There are several physiological, cognitive and emotional declines that elapse from the age. Although they are not always considered deficiencies, these declines may affect the interaction of elderly users with computers. The increasing ratio of elderly people in relation to young and adult populations should be considered, world-wide and in Brazil, as well as the growing interest of older people for the cybernetic space (Internet). This dissertation relates the developing activities of a checklist for evaluation of Web interfaces’ accessibility for elderly users. Based on the observation of elderly people in a workshop of interaction with a communication tool in the Web, which leaded to a search of recommendations of accessibility for the Web that would be particulary indicated for elderly users. The selected recommendation generated the first version of the checklist, which passed by three cycles of elaboration and tests of evolutionary versions, resulting on the final version of the checklist. The intention through this checklist is to propose a verification form that allows the Web designers to provide accessible contents to this specific public. The obtained results confirm the validity of the proposed checklist as an evaluation tool of Web accessibility for elderly users. Words Key: Accessibility, Elderly Users, Checklist. |
