| Abstract | The bioeconomic response of female guinea pigs during the growth and finishing phases were evaluated using thirty-five female guinea pigs that were twenty-nine days old with an average live weight of 399 ± 53 g. They were distributed in a completely randomized design with five treatments of seven repetitions each where each repetition had an experimental unit. The evaluated treatments were: T1 – green forage with a concentrated diet without the incorporation of yuca flour (HCY – acronym in Spanish), T2 – green forage with a concentrated diet and an incorporation of 10% HCY, T3 – green forrage with a concentrated diet and an incorporation of 20% HCY, T4 – green forage with a concentrated diet and an incorporation of 30% HCY, and T5 – green forage with a concentrated diet and an incorporation of 40% HCY. The results of the evaluated productivity indices did not show any significant differences (P > 0.05); in contrast to the the daily consumption of the concentrated food, which had a linear tendency. The mixed feed, as offered, presented a positive and negative linear tendency. The carcass and fat yields showed no significant differences (P > 0.05). With regards to the analysis of the net profit, the T5 had the best results (S/. 3.34) and T1 had the best economic merit at 47.66%. The conclusions are that female guinea pigs that are fed with concentrated diets which include varying levels of HCY influence the daily food consumption but have no influcence in weight gain, food conversion, carcass yield, liver weight, or amount of abdominal fat. |
