| Abstract | Objective: To identify nursing diagnoses in women with Pregnancy Specific Hypertensive Disease (PSHD) in the pregnancy-puerperal period hospitalized in a philanthropic maternity hospital in Anápolis-Go, Central Brazil. Methodology: A mixed study with a quantitative and qualitative approach, conducted in a philanthropic hospital in the interior state of Goiás, between the 1st and 30th of August 2019. The sample consisted of 13 women with confirmed diagnosis of pregnancy-puerperal PSHD. Results and Discussion: There was a predominance of mothers, young, with low education and family income. These findings revealed an important factor for the research, and may directly interfere with the degree of understanding of women. Diagnoses of ineffective health functional literacy and ineffective control of the therapeutic regimen, both related to women's level of knowledge / understanding, were the most prevalent, confirming the need for prenatal investments with educational strategies with teaching-learning methodologies that depart from of the specificities and particularities of this group of women. From the narratives emerged three (3) thematic categories: Category A Relevance of Quality Prenatal Care; Category B Health Literacy (HL): importance of the domain of diagnosis of PSHD; Category C Nursing Diagnoses in Hypertensive Pregnancy Disease (PSHD). Final considerations: During the research, it was observed the patients' misunderstanding and lack of knowledge about the severity of the syndrome. During prenatal care, patients were not clearly informed about prevention and possible risks, and had not been answered. The absence of quality care and health literacy is notorious, since in many cases incorrect guidance was given to pregnant women, which may be justified by the unpreparedness of working professionals, as well as the lack of interest of some patients to ask questions. respect of pathology.
