| Abstract | In this study was analyzed the influence of organic and inorganic fertilization of chamomile on morphological, nutrimental and photochemical variables. The experiment was conducted in Spring-summer season 2007, in a greenhouse from Colegio de Postgraduados, Montecillo, Mexico. A commercial variety of chamomile was used and two factors were evaluated the source of fertilization (SF) and days to harvest (DH). The supply of humic acids (SF-I), an organic fertilizer with biosynthetic aminoacids (SF-II) and the Steiner solution at a concentration at 75 % (SF-III) were compared as sources of organic and inorganic fertilization respectively. Harvests were made at 87, 97 and 108 DAT (days after transplant). Management of treatments was under a randomized complete block design with five replicates and a factorial arrangement 3. The number, weight and diameter of flowers per treatment were recorded after 30 DAT to know the production pattern. Height, fresh and dry weight of aerial parts and roots, nutrimental extraction and the total yield of essential oils with their components were recorded in each harvest. Essential oils were obtained by simple distillation; the components were characterized on thin layer chromatography (TLC). The main component was quantified in gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The results showed that the source of inorganic fertilizer positively influenced the yield and flower diameter, plant height, biomass production, |
