Abstract	The article intends to explore in depth H.G. Alfaro’s proposal on “El placer de la lectura” about where the dangers of the reading pleasure are located. For that purpose an outline of the historical aspects related to the dangers promoted by the lack of controls over the joyful reader is made. Likewise, with the support of the psychoanalytical theory the document attempts to clarify the pulsional process involving Eros and Tanatos in order to find what lies behind the pleasure of reading. Could this be a moment of joy?
