| Abstract | Global waste production has doubled over the past ten years. By 2025, the world will produce garbage at a rate of 2.5 billion tonnes per year [5]. Poor waste management in many developing countries is a threat to human health and the environment. Many developing countries struggle towards a sustainable model for waste collection and disposal and despite large expenditures, very few countries have achieved a sustainable garbage collection system. We propose a community-sourced, data-driven, online service market as a sustainable and economic solution to the garbage problem. |
