| Abstract | This test is intended to carry out a comparative analysis of public higher education policies in Brazil and Colombia in the context of the assurance of free university education in institutions of public higher education in Brazil, and the high costs university public education in Colombia. It is part of the referent in Latin America and worldwide Brazil has managed to be within the world raking with excellent results and in one of its achievements is its students access to higher education. the legal framework governing public higher education in both countries is analyzed in the first instance, later it described as a problem the lack of political will of the Colombian state to guarantee the free public higher education in Colombia, describing the indicators of professionalism and studies comparatively postgraduate programs in both countries, emphasizing the high costs of access to higher education in Colombia and the efforts made by the average citizen to make a career and achieve postgraduate studies with high costs even in the public sector. From the previous review it found that Brazil had decided to education, reflecting their will from the Federal Constitution from where all public policies are deployed, which has generated favorable results. The budget that invests Brazil in the education sector is much higher than in Colombia, which has managed to sustainability system based on free and access to education, contrario in Colombia, because who wants to professionalize should bear the high costs that this therefore implies private universities have lagged behind public., in spite of the Constitution it provides education as a public law and all people. The method used in this study constitutes a descriptive study, through a literature review of several authors who have investigated the matter, the results and conclusions lead to establish that in Colombia despite sharing common problems with Brazil as a Latin American country, not education is taken seriously, even more than is not lack of money but of political will because resources are diverted to other matters unrelated to cover such essential public need. |
