NDLI: Simulação de uma planta piloto de Biodisel com estudo da viabilidade econômica preliminar usando o ASPEN/HYSYS

Abstract	In recent years, biodiesel has become an alternative to the growing demand for fuel. The next step is to produce biodiesel economically competitive with fossil diesel in a industrial process. This work aims to study the computational simulation, of a biodiesel pilot plant, from the transesterification of vegetable oils to the purification of biodiesel, using ASPEN / HYSYS. Economic assessment was done to determine the total annualized cost per unit. The simulation results were compared with results obtained in a pilot plant set up in Pernambuco, Brazil. It was compared the economic viability of the pilot plant with a plant operating with a reactive distillation column for production of biodiesel. The results showed that reactive distillation is a more economical process than biodiesel produced by batch process.
