The �o��ere��e i� B����lore [101] w�s �i�ed �t e����i�� the v�rio�s st�keholders, espe�i�lly i� I�di�� i�d�stry, to sti��l�te i�terest ��d i�vest�e�ts i� TB i��ov�tio�s i� I�di� [4]. The �o��ere��e �e�t�red sever�l p��el dis��ssio�s �o�prised o� � �ix o� di��ere�t st�keholders who hi�hli�hted the �h�lle��e o� rese�r�h ��d develop�e�t i� TB di���osti�s �ro� its di��ere�t ���les [101]. There is � lot o� hope i� the pote�ti�l o� e�er�i�� e�o�o�ies s��h �s I�di� ��d Chi�� to develop ���ord��le he�lth��re te�h�olo�ies [5]. While these �o��tries h�ve � l�r�e TB ��rde�, they �lso h�ve the te�h�i��l ��d e�o�o�i� reso�r�es to i�vest i� sol�tio�s ��d �re ��p��le o� �ddressi�� the ���di�� ��p th�t exists �or poverty -rel�ted dise�ses �y i���si�� �ore reso�r�es i�to rese�r�h ��d develop�e�t [6]. There is �lso pote�ti�l �or phil��thropi� i�iti�tives �ro� hi�h-�et worth i�divid��ls ��d �o�p��ies i� these �rowi�� e�o�o�ies. With over 2 �illio� �ew TB ��ses every ye�r, I�di� h�s the hi�hest ��rde� o� TB i� the world [1]. Despite this ��rde�, I�di�� i�d�stry ��d ���de�i�s h�ve �ot developed ��y �ew tools (di���osti�s, dr��s or v���i�es) �or TB. The i��ov�tio� pote�ti�l �or TB di���osti�s i� I�di� [7,8] h�s �ee� ��der�sed, despite � lo�� tr�ditio� o� TB rese�r�h [9]. The �o��ere��e o��ered �� opport��ity to dis��ss why I�di� h�s ��iled to i��ov�te i� TB rese�r�h ��d develop�e�t, ��d wh�t it wo�ld t�ke to �h���e this re�lity. L��i�� Diti�, Se�ret�ry o� the Stop TB P�rt�ership, i�����r�ted the �o��ere��e with � �le�r �ess��e o� the i�port���e o� i�d�stry i� TB �o�trol.
