| Abstract | The number of people participating in international tourism activities in the world indicate a continuous increase. The increase in the tourism sector also provides the sectoral development. In particular, the number of hotel businesses operating in the hospitality industry is growing rapidly. This situation causes an increase in the competition between hotels. In order to maintain their lives and profitability in a highly competitive environment, hotel businesses have to apply their modern management approaches in their businesses. In this context, one of the best tools for hotel businesses is undoubtedly benchmarking. The aim of this study is to draw a theoretical framework for comparison and to determine the comparative application of hotel operations in the literature and to determine the contribution of hotel enterprises. For this purpose, the related domestic and foreign literature was reviewed and after the information about the concept, types and process of comparison was given, the applications in the hotel enterprises were transferred. As a result of the study, it has been seen that comparative studies were carried out for different parts of hotel enterprises. Another important result is the relatively low number of practical studies on the subject of comparison in hotel enterprises, especially in the domestic literature. |
