Abstract	Este articulo tiene el objetivo de discutir, a traves de un contexto especifico, Mauritania, los usos de la cultura en la vida asociativa juvenil. Se pretende introducir una discusion en torno a la forma en que la cultura es entendida fuera de la antropologia, o sea, como instrumento discursivamente utilizado por distintos actores en la arena publica y en la llamada sociedad civil. Abstract This article seeks to discuss – using the specific context of Mauritania – the uses of culture in the social life of youths. The objective is to introduce a discussion relating to the way in which culture is understood outside of anthropology, i.e., as an instrument that is used discursively by different agents in the public arena and in so-called civil society.
