| Abstract | An FE model for a carbon/aramid hybrid composite with a 2/2 twill woven fabric is described. Stiffness and strength properties are computed and compared with the results of simpler micromechanics models for woven fabric composites and with test data. The FE model is used to study the progressive failure process in hybrid composites under both tensile and compressive loads. |
