| Abstract | Special Education in Brazil: an overview of the inclusion process of people with special education needs The history of Special Education in Brazil, as a Latin American country, has been marked by the influence of countries in the American continent since the 19th century. However, the national policy only paid real attention to Special Education since the 60s of the 20th century. Today, there is a real investment in teacher training for this type of education, but still a long way to go as regards the inclusion of people with special edu- cation needs in the Brazilian society, so that they «all» be citizens and may exercise their rights. |
