| Abstract | YiBin Yangze River Bridge is regarded as a typical example in this paper. Characteristics of cables of this bridge are investigated by the statistical method to determine the model parameters for wind tunnel tests. A series of wind tunnel tests are carried out to explore the effect of wind speed, inclined angle, yaw angle, rain precipitation and structural damping ratio on the rain-wind induced vibration of cables in cable-stayed bridges. The results show that cables are prone to rain-wind induced vibration in the combination of α=25°、30° and β=25°、30°、 35° at the predominate wind speed of about 12m/s; lighter rain can promate the rain-wind induced vibration of cables; and the rain-wind induced vibration is sensitive to the structural damping ratio. |
