| Abstract | The results obtained using Coralina ® HAP-200 porous hydroxyapatite as implant biomaterial for the regeneration of bone tissue in the neck region are presented. This study is part of the extension of the clinical applications of this product as implant biomaterial for bone reconstruction. In this case is used in the form of granules for the restoration of bone defects caused by residual cysts in 24 patients (172 cysts) following the instructions and rules established for the use of these implants. Postoperative clinical and radiographic evaluation was performed at three days, seven days, thirty days, three months, six months and one year of operated patients, taking into account the presence and intensity of pain, erythematic, edema, infection or exposure of the implant biomaterial as indicated in the protocol for assessment of these products. The longitudinal clinical and radiographic study of patients in the first year after implanted confirm the excellent results in terms of tolerance and biocompatibility of the product, achieving an excellent cosmetic restoration. As in previous studies, in no case were no adverse reactions to biomaterial. The results confirm that Coralina® HAP-200 porous hydroxyapatite is an excellent biomaterial for bone substitution due to its great proven biocompatibility and osteointegration and not appreciably absorbed in the first 12 months after it is implanted. |
