| Abstract | Metropolis Light Transport is an unbiased and robust Monte Carlo algorithm for solving global illumination problems. The algorithm works in two phases. In the first phase, a bidirectional path tracer is used to generate an initial population of light transport paths. In the second phase, each initial path is mutated in turn and each mutation is either accepted or rejected with a carefully chosen probability. The contributions of resulting paths are then recorded on the image plane. |
