| Abstract | A new species of ptereleotrine dartfish, Navigobius vittatus, is described from marine waters of Brunei Darussalam, on the island of Borneo, based on 25 specimens, 14.8–23.0 mm SL. It is distinguished from Navigobius dewa of Japan, the only other described member of the genus, by a combination of features that include a smaller maximum size, first dorsal fin taller than second dorsal fin and containing filamentous rays, 11–13 segmented dorsal rays, 10–12 segmented anal rays, 53–58 scales in longitudinal series, and pronounced color differences. |
