| Abstract | The academic yield achieved by sophomore students of the course Numerical Method attended by students of education and bachelors of mathematics of the University of Mar del Plata in Argentina has been studied. The traditional teaching method was compared with a new methodology that promotes participation of students and that favors cognitive independence. The results obtained by students working with the traditional method (11 students) were compared with those of the students that used the new method (13 students). The work shows that the new proposal increases the academic yield in this particular course |
