| Abstract | The major problem of this study is to reveal how the stereotyping of single parent reflected in erin brockovich movie directed by Steven Soderbergh. The objectives of the study are to analyze the movie based on its structural elements and on the feminist analysis. In analysing the movie, the researcher uses qualittive study. There are two kinds of data source. The primary data is the movie of Erin Brockovich, while the secondary data are books and internet websites related to the study. The method of collecting data is purpose sampling by watching carefully the movie and then the researcher took sample of dialogue and ellipse of picture of the movie then used it as a starting point to analyze the issue. The technique of data analysis is descriptive technique. Having analyzed the movie, the researcher draws conclusions as follows, first, literary work may reflect the social reality about stereotype of single parent. Second, Erin Brockovich wants to say the general view of negative stereotype that reflected in single parent is wrong. |
